Prince George, British Columbia to Mile 0 Campground, Dawson Creek, British Columbia. 252 miles on the John Hart Highway / Highway 97 North.
Drip … and then more drips. We noticed the air-conditioning vent on our camper had a leak and a rainfall warning for a prolonged period of rain was issued so before leaving Prince George we went to Home Depot for duck tape and tarp material to cover the vent. Home Depot was amazing and let Ross work on the vent under their cover. The duck tape worked and we were on our way … North to Alaska!
The scenic John Hart Highway is the portion of 97 North from Prince George to Dawson Creek. The beautiful and stunning drive is surrounded by lakes, rivers, waterfalls, green valleys, and the Rocky Mountains. We had a mix of weather on our drive and were lucky for a break in the weather to enjoy walking around Chetwynd farmers market and the wood carvings. Mile 0 in Dawson Creek is the start of the Alaska Highway (Alcan Highway). We (Ross, Lori, Mikee and Cheryl) met up with Mary and Merv at Mile 0 Campground. We went to the Post & Row for dinner. A very fun place with excellent food and service.
